How Pretend Play Benefits Children
Pretend play, also called dramatic play, is beneficial for your little learner in multiple ways. That's why dress up and pretend play centers are so common in early education classrooms!
Pretend play games increase language and communication skills. They also improve vocabulary and story telling skills while emphasizing cooperation and turn taking.
Printable play sets are less expensive than full sets with lots of "stuff," plus they're easier to store.
Whenever you're done with a play set, store it away in an expanding folder to keep it neat and ready for next time! Encouraging children to clean up after playing is fantastic. You'll even find clean up in the "how to use" portion of your printable. =)

How to use your farmer's market pretend play printables
Part of the fun of pretend play printables is that they're open-ended. There is no one specific "correct" way to use them!
However, there are some general guidelines that will help your child or students enjoy this set of free printables.
I recommend laminating sign pieces/item tags or placing them in a dry erase pocket.
The price list is another good one to protect. I've included a long price sheet with prices and a completely blank sheet so you can use fewer items and set your prices.

For durability, I recommend laminating the item cards and cut outs. First, cut out the pieces, then laminate them. Cut the pieces out again, leaving a small lip of lamination around each border.
You do not need to "fussy cut" around each and every piece. Leaving a bit of white is fine. My daughter always likes to grab her blunt nosed scissors to help cut out pieces whenever we print a new dramatic play set.
