Materials needed to make a St Patrick's Day crown craft
You don't need much to make a headband craft. Here's what you'll need:
- Your free printable template (download link is lower down in the post, look for the row of purple arrows pointing the way)
- Printer access and paper
- I recommend this 32# heavyweight paper. It's sturdier than normal paper but easier to work with than card stock.
- Crayons, pencils, markers, etc.
- Tape

People frequently staple headband crafts together, but we prefer to use tape. Staples are fast, but they can catch on hair and rip it.
How to make a St Patrick's day crown
First, download your printable PDF file from lower down in the post. Print one page for each child making the craft. There are four pages in the PDF file - two in color and two in black and white.
Here's a look at all four pages:
Color the crown pieces and bands before cutting, if you're using a coloring page version. Toddlers may only need the center portion of the crown and one extra band.
Older children will need a bit of a second extra band piece if they want the crown to sit across their foreheads instead of "perching" on top.
Cut out the center crown portion and bands. Don't worry about fussy cutting around ever edge on the central portion - just cut around it, as shown below.
Tape the bands to make a crown that fits each child.
Wear and enjoy! Your child or students may want to add extras like glitter or stickers.
