It's easy to cut yourself with a sharp chisel, and it's easy to damage your chisel by tossing it in a tool box.
These chisel guards specially sized for timber framing chisels are here to help!
It's hard to find chisel edge guards for larger timber framing chisels and bench chisels.
The large chisel guards that are available are frequently made from leather, which isn't always a good choice for blades. Cheaper leather products can trap moisture, which encourage your blades to rust.
That's why we designed these 3D printed chisel guards for 1", 1.5", 2", and 2.5" chisels!
Each guard is marked with its size on the side. Guards are held securely in place with a wedge.
The smaller guards fit both Robert Sorby and Barr chisels. The slick (2.5" edge guard) fits the Barr slick, but has not been tested on Sorby. Due to the shape of the Sorby, it may not fit.
These guards should fit other single bevel framing chisels and bench chisels.
We're excited to bring them to you with two different formats: ready made chisel guards and 3D print files.
The 3D print files are available as both stl and 3mf.
