This free printable winter hat cut and paste craft is a no-prep way for children to practice fine motor skills, handwriting, hand-eye coordination, and gluing skills.

In addition to the cut and paste hat craft, each page also has space to trace the word "hat." The craft is available in two versions - one color and one black and white.

Materials needed for a winter hat paper craft

To make this craft, you will need:

Your free printable (look for the row of purple arrows pointing at the download button)
Printer access and paper or card stock
Bl unt tipped scissors
Glue stick
Preschool pencil or something else to write and trace with
Colored pencils or crayons, if you're using the coloring page version
Glitter, pom pots, etc, optional

My daughter prefers to trace and write the word on her cut and paste worksheets before coloring or cutting out the pieces. It's easiest for little learners to write on the page while it's still intact.

Coloring the hat pieces is easiest before cutting out the pieces. The brim, band, and pom pom are shown in white on the sample, but they can be colors any color your child desires.

Next, cut out the pieces. There is a back piece to glue everything two and four hat pieces.

Glue the pieces together to make a winter hat. A reference image is included, but this one is super easy to put together. Glue the crescent shaped portion of the hat to the back piece. Glue the stripe, brim, and pom pom on top.

Add glitter, colored sand, pom poms, or other decorations, if desired.

That's it! This is a super easy, no-prep craft that your kids will be enjoying just minutes from now.
