How to use color by number pages
Most of these color by number pages feature numbers 1-6. One has numbers 1-7. They can be used by pre-k children (with help), kindergarten students, first graders, and other ages of young children who need additional practice or remediation.
These pages help teach numbers and color words while building children's hand muscles and hand-eye coordination. This means they're both fun and developmentally appropriate.
If your child or students are still working on reading their color names, you can make a color key by coloring in the tip of each crayon with the appropriate color.
There are many ways to use these number coloring pages. Here are a few ideas to get your creative juices flowing:
- Use the pages in math centers
- Get your entire family involved with coloring
- Use them as morning work
- Use them with small groups or as independent work
- Provide them as extra practice for students who are working towards mastery of numbers and color words
- Use them with occupational therapy clients
- Keep kiddos busy during a friend or family member's graduation
You can make these coloring sheets reusable by sliding each page into a heavy duty sheet protector or dry erase pocket.
- Package includes 6 dry erase pocket sleeves in 6 bright colors, which are red, green, yellow, orange, pink, and blue.
- Mr. Pen dry erase pocket sleeves are made with durable and long-lasting PET plastic with industrial-grade stitching according to the highest quality...
- Our dry erase pockets measure 10 x 14 inches, which makes them perfect for storing most sizes of paper or student activity sheets.
Instead of using dry erase markers, which erase themselves, use Stabilo Woody 3-in-1 crayons. They color well and don't erase themselves. Check out the video below to see what I mean! (Get the pictured dinosaur coloring pages in this post.)
- 30 times more color than a traditional colored pencil with extra color intensity, even on the darkest of papers
- Due to its chunky shape, size and indestructible lead it is perfect for children's hands and promotes a good grip
- The unique multi-talented pencil is a coloring pencil, watercolor and wax crayon all in one

This set has six color by number printables. Each sheet features different graduation themed images including caps, diplomas, ribbons, certificates, photos, and confetti.
The pages use basic colors found in virtually all crayon sets. If you don't have a light blue and a dark blue, you can show your children or students how coloring lightly or more heavily changes the crayon's appearance on the page.
