- 12 oz bag of pretzels (gluten free, if needed)
- 9 oz dairy free white chocolate chips -or- candy melts
- For easier melting, use these dairy free white chocolate melting chips
- For more wholesome ingredients, use Enjoy Life white chocolate chips.
- Food coloring for chocolate
- Sprinkles (of your choice)
- Wax paper or parchment paper
The linked food coloring is specifically for coloring fatty products like chocolate and buttercream. It works much better than water-based food coloring from the store (but you're welcome to try using whatever you have on hand).

How to make gluten free, dairy free Valentine's Day chocolate pretzels
Lay out parchment paper or wax paper for placing the dipped pretzels on. You can your wax paper on a baking sheet to make the pretzels easier to move and handle.
Separate your 9 oz of white chocolate or candy melts into three bowls, or portion pre-colored melts into bowls.
Melt the chocolate in the microwave in increments of 20 seconds. Stir thoroughly between each microwave session.
Add a drop of pink food coloring to one bowl and a drop of red to another. Stir. Add more, if desired. The exact amount needed will depend on your food coloring.
Dip each pretzel into melted chocolate, then place on your wax paper. Add sprinkles immediately or wait for the chocolate to harden and partially re-dip in a second color before adding sprinkles.
Repeat with all remaining pretzels.
You can transfer the pretzels to the fridge for 30 minutes until the candy has hardened, but I prefer to let it sit out so I don't risk the pretzels getting soggy.
Slide the baking tray into a completely cool oven to keep them safe from pets and little hands while harden.
Once they're fully dry, you can add the pretzels to 4x6 cello bags and top them with your free printable treat toppers, if desired.
