I am so excited to share my latest project: a full set of deep see alphabet gracing pages a-z!
Most alphabet worksheets use "A is for Apple" or "B is for Ball." And while those are classics, they don’t exactly have that "wow" factor for a curious kid. But A for Anglerfish? Or Y for Yeti Crab? Now we’re talking!

If you're doing an ocean themed unit, make sure to grab these additional free printables!

What’s Inside the Deep Sea Alphabet Pack?
I designed these pages specifically to be ink-friendly (black and white all the way!) and packed with value. Each page includes:
- A mysterious deep-sea image to color.
- Uppercase and lowercase letters to trace and write.
- The creature’s name to trace (perfect for vocabulary building!).
Why the Deep Sea? (The STEM Connection)

There is so much STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) value in exploring the abyss.
Plus kids tend to love new, weird seeming things!
When kids trace the word "anglerfish" or "lanternfish," they'll want to ask questions and explore. How do they see in the dark? Why don’t they get squished by the water pressure?
Fun fact: One of our "X" words is the Xenophyophore. It’s one of the largest single-celled organisms in the world!
They live at the very bottom of the ocean and can grow up to 4 inches wide. It’s basically a giant, deep-sea "super-cell." How cool is that?

Make the most of your lesson by pairing these worksheets with a physical book children can use to explore the mysteries of the deep.
Remember the Eyewitness books we read as kids? DK is still publishing fantastic kids science books! This DK Anthology of Aquatic Life is a beautiful book filled with information about marine life.

Handwriting Still Matters
In a world of tablets and touchscreens, you might wonder if handwriting still matters. The answer is a resounding YES!
Putting pencil (or crayon) to paper is like a workout for the brain. It develops fine motor skills, improves hand-eye coordination, and actually helps kids retain information better than typing.
When they trace the curvy lines of a "S" for Submarine, they are building neural pathways that help with reading and cognitive development.
Fun Ways to Use These Printables
Don't feel like you just have to hand over a stack of paper and a pencil! Here are a few ways to spice things up:
The "Busy Binder": Laminate the pages or put them in plastic sheet protectors. Use dry-erase markers so your little ones can practice over and over again during car rides or in classroom centers.
- Package includes 6 dry erase pocket sleeves in 6 bright colors, which are red, green, yellow, orange, pink, and blue.
- Mr. Pen dry erase pocket sleeves are made with durable and long-lasting PET plastic with industrial-grade stitching according to the highest quality...
- Our dry erase pockets measure 10 x 14 inches, which makes them perfect for storing most sizes of paper or student activity sheets.

The "Midnight Search": Since these are deep-sea themed, turn off the lights and let your kids "explore" their worksheets with a flashlight!
Coloring Pages: Have your child or students color in the deep sea image after completing the handwriting practice pages!
Fact-Finding Mission: Once your kiddo finishes a page, grab a book and see if you can find more information about the featured critter.
Eyewitness Ocean is another great option.
