These free summer fingerprint crafts are a no-prep sensory craft for kids. Pick from five different designs to celebrate summer!
Fingerprint crafts are similar to handprint crafts, but they're less mess!

Instead of painting your child's entire hand, they just use a single finger print. Most children find it easiest to use a thumb. You can use an ink pad instead of poster paint to cut down on the mess factor even more. I hope you enjoy!

How to make Fingerprint art
Here's how to use your printable art templates:
1. Download your printable craft pages. Look for the row of purple arrows pointing the way. Your PDF file has five different images to pick from. You will see the blank pages first, then completed sample images.
2. Print the pages you want on heavy duty paper or card stock.
3. Practice with a dry (not painted) hand to see where your child wants to place their fingerprints on the page.
4. Make sure your child is wearing old clothes or a protective apron/smock.
5. Pour some paint into a plate or dish to use as a paint pallet. No need to do this if you're using ink pads!
6. Have your child lightly dip a finger pad or thumb pad into the paint, then press his/her finger down to make a fingerprint. If you're using an ink pad, have him/her press firmly into the ink pad instead of using paint.
7. Repeat! These crafts have a varying number of fingerprints needed. Some take only a few, others need many

7. Once the paint is dry, you can use pens or markers to add embellishments, if desired.
8. Clean up. =)
