This worksheet is a perfect activity to do after reading Meet August, the eight book in the Calendar Kids series. The year-long series personifies each month of the year and has him or her telling friends (the prior and next months) all about the special days and celebrations that take place in his/her month.
In Meet August, August picks out new school supplies, talks about the end of summer, and walks to school on the hottest day of the year. He's nervous about the first day of school, but of course everything turns out okay. =)

Materials needed for your August kindergarten worksheet
You don't need much for this printable fine motor activity. All you need is:
- Your free printable PDF (look for the row of purple arrows lower down in the post)
- Printer access and paper
- Crayons, colored pencils, or markers
- Dry erase pocket and markers, optional
