How to use color by number pages

Color by number worksheets help teach numbers and color words while building children's finger muscles and hand-eye coordination.

These color by number pages have numbers 1-20, but not all on the same page. This makes it easy to differentiate instruction and help introduce little learners to smaller groups of numbers at a time. You can start kiddos off with the 1-6 pages or focus on teen numbers.

Most pages have six numbers per page. Each number 1-20 appears at least twice over the set of worksheets.

If your child or students are still working on reading their color names, you can make a color key by coloring in the tip of each crayon with the appropriate color. 

There are many ways to use these number coloring pages. Here are a few ideas:

• Use them for no-prep fun at home over the summer
• Use the pages in math centers
• Use them as morning work at the end of start of the school year
• Use them with small groups or as independent work
• Provide them as extra practice for students who are working towards mastery of numbers and color words
• Use them with occupational therapy clients

You can make these coloring sheets reusable by sliding each page into a heavy duty sheet protector or dry erase pocket. This makes them easy for use in centers.

This set has six color by number printables. Each sheet features a different summer image including ice cream, a snow cone, lemonade, beach scenes, and a pool.

The pages use basic colors found in almost all crayon sets. If you don't have a light blue and a dark blue, show your children or students how coloring lightly or more heavily changes the crayon's appearance on the page.
