How to build a paper turkey easy craft
First, grab your free download from lower down in the post.
Print out the page. Make sure to print one blank turkey template per child who will be participating in this turkey activity.
This easy craft is in black and white, but it does have a small color preview image so your child knows how to build the turkey. The page can be printed or copied in black and white if you don't want to use colored ink.
Have your early learners color in the body of the turkey, the turkey's feathers, and other turkey parts before cutting them out.
Have your child/students cut out the pieces of the turkey using blunt-tipped scissors. The turkey feathers are cut out as one big piece. The legs can be cut out roughly into a square or oval shape instead of trying to fussy cut around each turkey leg.
Younger kids may need adult help, but older kids will probably want to cut out their own turkey solo.
Glue the tail feathers and legs to the back of the turkey body. Glue the head to the front of the body and place the hat on the front/top of the head. Wings are glued onto the front of the body. Your kiddos can reference the completed turkey image for help.
The completed adorable turkey can be used as part of your family Thanksgiving decorations or turned into a stick puppet by gluing it to a large craft stick.
