My daughter likes to start by tracing the word, copying it for herself, then cutting the two pieces of the page apart along the dotted line.
Coloring the mermaid is easiest before cutting out the pieces. My daughter loved this craft so much she asked me to print it five times! She also added details like bows, eye lashes, and earrings.
Next, cut out the pieces.
Glue the mermaids head, body, and tail together. My daughter decided to use tape to hold the body to the fins. It worked well, but glue is better for putting the body in place over the hair.
You're ready to use your mermaid! It can be attached to a paper bag or a craft stick if you'd like to make a puppet.
