How to play picture bingo
This picture bingo is a variation on the classic game of bingo. Instead of numbers, each space has a Mexico/ Cinco de Mayo related image.
This Cinco de Mayo bingo game is fun for small groups. There are many places and ways to use it. Here are a few ideas of ways to use this bingo game:
- In classroom centers
- With classroom parties
- For family game night
- At homeschool co-op
These bingo cards have a 4x4 grid due to the relatively small image pool. There are 16 images on each card and a total of 20 images in the image pool. There are 10 unique cards in the set. The image below shows half of the cards and the calling card page.
I like to use 32lb HP bright white paper instead of plain paper for bingo cards because it produces more crisp, vibrant images.

You can laminate the pages or slide them into dry erase pockets so they can be reused. Dry erase pockets and heavy duty sheet protectors are more budget-friendly because they are reusable.

To save paper, you can print the cards two up (two to a page) and cut the paper in half with a paper trimmer.
Picture bingo tips
There is a sheet of call cards at the back of the PDF. Make sure to print this page instead of cutting up an extra card because each bingo card does not show all possible images.
Have someone draw cards one at a time and announce/show the image to the players. Some of the pictures are similar, so children will have to pay close attention to the picture. (For example, they need to differentiate between a pair of maracas and a single maraca.)
Just like with number-based bingo, players mark off each called image if they have it on their card.
The first player to get four in a row wins. Because of the number of unique cards in this set, multiple children could "win" on the same turn.
