Stay on top of your cooking plans with these free printable August menu planners!
It’s all too easy to fall into an end of summer rut by the time August comes around. After a few too many fast food dinners, you may be looking for a way to get your eating habits, and grocery spending, back on track. These free printable meal planners for August are here to help!
This set of free printable menu planners for August includes a weekly meal planner page with an outer space theme. The page is available in both color and black and white. If it’s still July when you find this post, grab your free printable July meal planners on this page.
The monthly meal planners I share typically have a holiday theme, but there are no major holidays in the month of August. I went with an outer space theme for the month to help you get younger family members interested and engaged in meal planning. Having your chid help plan and prepare meals can help their acceptance of new, different foods. It’s also great preparation for life – I’m so thankful for the times my dad had me plan out meals for our family. These experiences have benefited me greatly in life.

How to print and use menu planners
These pages have printer safe margins, so they’re ready to print and use without worrying about custom printer settings.
I recommend printing on bright white 32 lb paper. It’s heavier and brighter than normal printer paper, which means your planner will look nicer and hold up better to handling throughout the week. This paper is what I use for virtually all of my planner printables – check out this post on the best paper for printable planners to see a side-by-side comparison of actual printouts on several different types of paper.
- Made in USA: HP Papers is sourced from renewable forest resources and has achieved production with 0% deforestation in North America.
- Heavyweight premium printing: HP Premium32 is a heavyweight (32 pounds), brighter (100 bright) and whiter (163 whiteness) paper with a super-smooth...
- Certified sustainable: HP Premium32 presentation paper is Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified and contributes toward satisfying credit MR1...
If you’re feeling stressed, relax by coloring the black and white menu planner pages. They aren’t just boring spreadsheets – they have fun illustrations to color.
The pages do not have breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks like many meal planners. Thanks to reader feedback, I’ve learned that many people prefer to plan just one or two meals (like lunch and dinner) and prefer to print off a page for each meal if they need additional space. Get a closer look at the layout in the preview image below:
If you use a three ring binder for your household planning, just print your page, hole punch, and place it in your binder. (If you have a household planner binder, be sure to grab these free printable bill trackers while you’re here on The Artisan Life!)
You can also print these menu planners to scale and put them in your favorite planner of choice. I’ve already done the math for you – just reference the chart below, print your page scaled down, then trim with a paper trimmer.
Make sure to use the appropriate hole punch for your planner system. Happy Planner Classic and Happy Planner has its own proprietary punch. Many of the six hole planner styles can be used with an adjustable six hole punch.
