Two worksheets have a quetzal bird to color. One has correct letter formation graphics for the letter q. The other has six lines of letter q tracing practice without extra images.

The quetzal is a brilliantly colored South and Central American bird. There are six species of quetzal, all of them large and colorful. Here's a picture of a resplendent quetzal, the national bird of Guatemala:

Your children can use this picture as reference to color the quetzals on the worksheets, or create a color scheme form their imagination.

Two of the worksheets have a quetzal to color. The third worksheet has correct letter formation graphics. The fourth worksheet has six lines of letter q tracing practice with no additional graphics. It's best for older children or children who have already been introduced to the letter "q."

Coloring the letter "Q" and the quetzal bird serve as a warmup before tracing the uppercase and lowercase letter q's. Just like an artist might make a warmup drawing, your child can prepare for tracing letters with a bit of coloring!
