Printable Halloween Number Order Puzzles: teach your preschooler to count the fun way

These Halloween theme number order puzzles are fun for preschoolers, pre-k, and kindergarteners. Grab free printable Halloween number sequence puzzles with numbers 1-5 and 1-10 to help your child learn their numbers.

These Halloween themed number order puzzles are fun and simple to use. Your child builds the picture and counts along. Don’t worry, Mama, the pictures are cute, not scary! My daughter was super excited to see the Halloween sharks – I’m sure your little one will be, too.

Older children can also work on their scissor skills by cutting the puzzle into strips, themselves. The free printable number building puzzles are perfect for preschoolers and pre-k and you can add on more challenging puzzles for your little learner with numbers up to 20, skip counting to 100, and blank versions to fill in with your own numbers or sight word sentences.

Two printable Halloween number building puzzles. One has numbers 1-5 and three Halloween sharks. The other puzzle has numbers 1-10 and a purple cat with two pumpkins

This post has two free printable Halloween number building puzzles that you’re welcome to use with your own children, therapy clients, or classroom. There are additional blank PDFs and skip counting puzzles available for a very low price, too!

These number learning puzzles make a great addition to your Halloween theme. Use them with these free printable Halloween bingo cards or Halloween matching cards. Toddlers and preschoolers also love these free printable Halloween dot marker printables.

How to use number order puzzles

First, grab your printable PDF files. The puzzles with numbers 1-5 and 1-10 are available for free download in this post with no email address required. Just keep scrolling a little bit further down the page.

Print your pages. I typically print games like this on presentation paper, a heavyweight paper with a special coating for beautiful images. Cardstock is more durable than printer paper, but the images won’t be as bright and crisp. My third choice is heavyweight premium printer paper like this 32lb bright white paper I use for my planner printables.

Laminate the pages. This is optional, but highly recommended. I almost always laminate printables. If you want these number order puzzles to be part of a classroom math center or reusable at a later time/with other children, you should laminate them. An at home laminator typically pays for itself with 15-20 uses.

We have laminated matching cards that my daughter has used for over a year. There’s no way they would have lasted that long if they weren’t laminated, so we would have ended up printing extra copies. Laminating your pages is a great way to save your printer ink since you won’t need to print the same pages again and again.

Next, cut away the border around your puzzle and cut it into strips.

Have your child build the picture and count!
