What are dot marker coloring pages?
Dot marker coloring pages, also called “Do a Dot pages” after the popular Do a Dot marker brand, are coloring sheets with blank circles on the image. Your child, or student, uses a dauber marker to fill in the circle. Dauber markers are basically bingo markers, but in a variety of colors for kids.
In my experience, kids from ages 1-5 love dot marker coloring pages. They are so easy for you – just print and had the page over to your little learner! They’re also developmentally appropriate for young children. They help your child improve their fine motor skills, hand eye coordination, finger strength, and more.
How use dauber/bingo marker pages
The circles on these pages are based on the size of my daughter’s Classic Do a Dot Markers. The circles on your printable are sized for this brand of markers, but they also work with other dauber or bingo style markers because they’re all pretty similar in size.
These are the exact markers we use. They last forever. We’ve been using the same set of markers for more than three years now. For best results, make sure the lids are on tight and store them on their sides, not standing up. When they stand up for a long time, the ink drains out of the sponge. If this happens to you, pounce the marker firmly a few times to get ink flowing evenly again.
To make the dot marker pages reusable, have your child cover the circles with pompoms, felt balls, or big buttons. If you really want to challenge and strengthen little fingers, have your child place the manipulative with a pair of tongs. Bamboo toast tongs work well and are usually inexpensive.
