Printable coloring pages are perfect for kids. You don’t have to buy a whole new book (or wait out a meltdown) when your child decides they wanted to color the page a different way or wants to color their favorite page again. Just print a new copy!
For professional-feeling coloring pages that are fun to color, make sure to use a nicer paper (not whatever cheap feeling paper is in the printer at work). Remember that rough, yellow paper in your coloring books as a kid? It wasn’t much fun to color on, was it?
I use and recommend HP 32# paper for coloring pages. It’s the opposite of that yellow, see-through paper you didn’t like as a kid. It’s thicker and brighter than “regular” copy paper, which helps keep markers from feathering. The paper also feels smoother, so pencils and crayons glide and color smoothly on it.

Our family’s favorite budget markers (that actually work) are Crayola Supertips. They’re a bargain and fun for adults and children. The fine tip makes them better than many other markers for coloring details. Because there are dozens of shades, they’re great for colorful Christmas pages.
Prismacolors are my top choice for colored pencils. Even the more budget lines of Prismacolor colored pencils are softer and creamier than brands like Crayola. Prismacolors color easily and are great for blending. A colorless Prismacolor blending pencil is the perfect tool for the job if you want to start blending colored pencils.
